One of the most exciting project I'm currently involved with is the creation of a learning campus on the Isle of Wight. The campus will contain a new secondary school whose teaching and learning structure is based in a different way of approaching the curriculum. The building will support a focus on vocational skills, expecting young people to ready and prepared for the world of work and ground them in learning techniques which will enable them to have confidence to meet the challenges of the world in the 21st century. Sustainable techniques will be central to developing a organisation that is self sufficient in meeting its own needs and providing a focus for the local community. Early days - the building won't be up till 2012 at the earliest although much of the work in changing how the school operates and learning is supported is already underway in the current school. Almost all institutions nowadays have innovations to provide the best service. It is also wise that our education system will have also innovations. This will provide students some other way of learning unlike the traditional one. This innovation in education will really help a lot for the better future. We in Internet t1 are happy to hear that.

It is very difficult to keep all the information we've gathered at school. This will be good, thanks for this initiative to help students.

Thanks

Had a really interesting interview yesterday about what the commercial world could learn from the education sector and vice versa. I'll post the article when it comes out. Am also in touch with a professor who's researching innovation in consultancy - again something to watch out for. I'll add details as I get them.

Glad everyone was interested. There's still much to do and the project is getting a little hairy - like they do....still it'll be really good once it's up and running. Keep watching and I'll let you know how we get on.

Preparing students for the real world is exactly what the current educational system needs. After I graduated in college and started working for a firm, I had no clue on how to apply what I've learned. I realized that because of the lack of practical knowledge, it is very difficult to keep all the information we've gathered at school. I think on-the-job trainings would be a great addition to the current curriculum in schools. Besides, schools are supposed to prepare you for your work in the future and not just teach you mere theories.
Thanks for sharing this great idea!
